7-Day Forecast (5/1/2013)

Warm & Sunshine

WEDNESDAY FORECAST DISCUSSION: I hope you enjoyed the nice weather on Tuesday! The good news is that it will be nice once again on Wednesday. Overnight, there may be some patchy fog with lows around 55. It will be mostly sunny to partly cloudy on Wednesday with only the very slight chance of a stray shower, but most areas will remain dry. Afternoon highs will be in the upper 70s to lower 80s–similar to Tuesday but maybe a degree or two warmer. Rain chances increase into the weekend, but there is still a lot of uncertainty. If the low pressure system transitions into a cutoff low as some of the models are anticipating, it could meander around for several days and will be very difficult to model. Adding to the uncertainty is the “omega block” in place with ridging taking place over the Eastern United States. Therefore, at this time, we are forecasting a 40% chance of rain on Saturday and Sunday with a 30% chance of rain on Monday. As get closer to the weekend, we will keep you up-to-date with the very latest information. Stay tuned! -Meteorologist Jeremy Buckles
