TUESDAY FORECAST: We’re watching some scattered showers and a few imbedded thunderstorms out in West Tennessee and around Memphis that will move toward East Tennessee overnight and into Tuesday morning. By morning, expect scattered areas of rain across the area. This “off and on” rain will persist into the afternoon before ending by the evening. It won’t rain all day, and it won’t rain extremely hard with total rainfall amounts averaging around 0.25″-0.5″ for most areas. The high temperature will be in the low 70s after a morning low in the mid to upper 50s. We’ll clear out again on Wednesday and Thursday as high pressure takes control. There will be plenty of sunshine with highs temperatures around 70 on Wednesday and warming into the mid to upper 70s on Thursday. We’ll have another likely chance of some showers and storms on Friday before we clear out for a nice Saturday. In fact, Saturday looks like a great day to head to the Smokies, go fishing, or get out and work in the garden. Highs this weekend will likely be in the 70s. More clouds, and a chance of showers or storms, return by Sunday night and Monday as low pressure approaches from the west. -Meteorologist Jeremy Buckles
